So, now that I am gainfully employed I have purchased a scanner with a lovely hinge that allows me to scan books. This will change the way I blog since as much as I love to write, I love to draw, paint, and collage. I collect pieces of things in my life and stow them away for future collages and journals. The results you will start seeing more and more on The Seize. Enjoy- and feel free to comment as always!!

I’ve been locked away for awhile (work) so I’m catching up. This is really really awesome Celes. I love it.

At first it reminded me of the Meg Cabot books I’ve seen where most of the story is notes, emails, etc – its different and makes it cutesier – but going into the collage stuff pushes this into a whole ‘nother dimension.

“Titulal archbishopric” – I don’t even know what that means…

  • Thank ye. I was hoping I’d scan more this weekend, but instead I collaged and journaled a bunch and decided to try out a new commenting system for all new posts (and posts not yet commented on).

I like the idea that there can now be some kind of integration between my blog ad the physical ‘impression/thought keeping’ I do. …now I just need to make time to scan & upload.

It also is a matter of when to scan- I don’t journal chronologically. I may start on a page in the middle or add things to an old page later. I used to try to keep it in a more traditional manner, but trying to fit my brain in those constraints made for dull entires and makes it hard to do. This is the sort of thing I do to defrag the mind.

Lately I’ve been cutting through pages in one of my journals- thus that one can’t be scanned until I’m sure I’m done with it. Most pages will have pieces of pages in front of them.

  • Oh, and titular archbishopric- it’s a legit Catholic hierarchical term apparently.
